Com o tema “Os Wakfs e seu papel no serviço das minorias muçulmanas” foi realizado nos dias 24 e 25 de janeiro o 34º Congresso do Centro de Divulgação do Islam Para América Latina, promovido em parceria o Ministério de Assuntos Islâmicos, Divulgação e Orientação do Reino da Arábia Saudita.
O evento realizado de forma virtual contou com a presença de mais de 100 participantes, entre autoridades, acadêmicos e formadores de opinião de mais de 30 países da América Latina, Caribe, além dos países árabes e islâmicos: Arábia Saudita, Kuait, Jordânia, Marrocos, Líbano, Egito, Emirados Árabes Unidos, Palestina, Suécia, Austrália e Canadá.
Ao longo de dois dias, foram realizados seis painéis, com a discussão de 34 pesquisas realizadas sobre o conceito dos Wakfs e seu funcionamento: seus objetivos, área de atuação, importância para as minorias muçulmanas, os Wakfs sob a ótica das leis, exemplos históricos e contemporâneos, razão de sua fragilidade na atualidade e as iniciativas que promovam a sua revitalização nas comunidades islâmicas.
Aproveitamos a oportunidade para agradecer em especial a República Federativa do Brasil por seu acolhimento a comunidade islâmica no Brasil; o reconhecimento ao Rei Salman Bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud e ao príncipe herdeiro Mohamad Bin Salman – Que Deus os proteja – por seu apoio e cooperação com a comunidade islâmica na América Latina e nos países do Mar do Caribe; o Ministério de Assuntos Islâmicos, Divulgação e Orientação por ter apoiado e participado do Congresso; o Ministro Sheikh Doutor Abdul Latif Bin Abdul Aziz Al Alsheikh por sua participação e por ter proferido sua palavra, enaltecendo o Islam.
O congresso teve as seguintes recomendações: divulgação da cultura dos Wakfs nos meios de comunicação, além de disseminar os ensinamentos dos Wakfs na sociedade civil, nos meios religiosos, nas universidades e instituições educativas islâmicas.
Outras iniciativas propostas no Congresso foram a realização de workshops e seminários com os responsáveis e dirigentes dos Wakfs para abordar o desenvolvimento e modernização de sua gestão, dentre outras ações; formação de parcerias entre os Wakfs e as instituições de Zakat para fortalecimento da performance dos Wakfs; além da denúncia das agressões contra a sagrada Makkah, berço do Islam na Arábia Saudita, por parte das milícias Houti apoiadas pelo Irã, e solicitar aos organismos internacionais que assumam suas responsabilidades diante desses atentados.
34th Congress of the Center for the Dissemination of Islam for Latin America brings together more than 100 participants from 30 countries
With the theme “The Wakfs and their role in the service of Muslim minorities”, the 34th Congress of the Center for the Dissemination of Islam for Latin America was held on the 24th and 25th of January, promoted in partnership with the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Outreach and Guidance of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The virtual event was attended by more than 100 participants, including authorities, academics and opinion leaders from more than 30 countries in Latin America, the Caribbean, in addition to Arab and Islamic countries: Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Jordan, Morocco, Lebanon, Egypt, United Arab Emirates, Palestine, Sweden, Australia and Canada.
Over two days, six panels were held, with the discussion of 34 research carried out on the concept of Wakfs and their functioning: their objectives, area of activity, importance for Muslim minorities, the Wakfs from the perspective of the laws, historical examples and contemporaries, reason for its fragility at the present time and the initiatives that promote its revitalization in the Islamic communities.
We take this opportunity to thank in particular the Federative Republic of Brazil for its welcome to the Islamic community in Brazil; recognition of King Salman Bin Abdul Aziz Al Saoud and Crown Prince Mohamad Bin Salman – May God protect them – for their support and cooperation with the Islamic community in Latin America and the countries of the Caribbean Sea; the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Outreach and Guidance for supporting and participating in the Congress; the Minister Sheikh Dr. Abdul Latif Bin Abdul Aziz Al Alsheikh for his participation and for having given his word, praising Islam.
The congress had the following recommendations: dissemination of the Wakfs’ culture in the media, in addition to disseminating the Wakfs’ teachings in civil society, religious circles, universities and Islamic educational institutions.
Other initiatives proposed at the Congress were the holding of workshops and seminars with Wakfs officials and leaders to address the development and modernization of their management, among other actions; formation of partnerships between the Wakfs and the Zakat institutions to strengthen the performance of the Wakfs; in addition to denouncing the attacks against holy Mecca, the cradle of Islam in Saudi Arabia, by the Iranian-backed Houti militias, and asking international organizations to assume their responsibilities in the face of these attacks.
